Shop Room 4

Period styling and stunning views
Bedrooms 1
Sleeps 2 adults

Those who spend the night in Room 4 won’t have to leave the huge bed to enjoy awe-inspiring views thanks to Crittall windows that, on clear days, reveal astonishing views that reach to the wilds of Dartmoor

Floor-to-ceiling glass allows light to flood this beautiful space, which has been designed to capture the ambience of the 1940s. A refined and traditionally masculine vibe has been created through the use of dark woods, rich fabrics and statement Art Deco pieces.

The rooms, suites and cottages of The Collective have been awarded a prestigious One-Key Michelin rating.

Room 4 has been created in the space above the village shop, which has been entirely remodelled to create two bespoke suites and two cosy rooms. The original shop and its two-storey flat was built by The Collective at Woolsery founder Michael Birch’s great-grandparents and was where his grandmother was born.

Back in the hands of the Birch family, the space has been reimagined to capture the essence of the 1930s and 1940s, a period when Michael’s grandmother would have delivered milk around the parish on her bicycle.
