We’d like to think our menus at The Farmers Arms were one of the contributing factors to us winning Gold – Pub of the Year, at the Visit England Awards for Excellence a few weeks ago!
Have you seen our latest summer menu? It’s full of dishes that are made with ingredients sourced locally as possible, much of it from our own growing HQ, Birch Farm.
Our ‘pub’ menu does all the classics really, really well: scotch egg, beer battered haddock, chicken and ham pie, Exmoor roast beef sandwiches and more besides. But the pub also has more unique dishes to offer, including current staff favourite nettle and ramson dumplings.
Or, try the whole barbecued bream or Creedy Carver chicken with lemon verbena and pickled onion. Our cured ChalkStream trout with spruce and elderflower or our hedgerow salad with goat’s cheese and candied walnuts are perfect for lighter meals (although you may want to have the barbecued carrots with mint yoghurt on the side too!).
On the pub’s five-course Birch Farm Menu (we have a meat and vegetarian option) this summer, we feature Whiteface Dartmoor hogget served with spiced sausage, and a stunning morel dish served with ramson and asparagus. Meanwhile, this season’s pre-dessert dish is a beautiful bowl of gorse with sweet cicely, woodruff and cultured yoghurt.
And we haven’t even talked desserts! Why not check them out for yourself, and join us at The Farmers Arms this summer!?
