The Potting Shed is tucked away in a little corner of Devon. A bespoke contemporary building surrounded by unspoilt views on our Birch Farm it makes a beautifully intimate venue for a special occasion.
By day, the Potting Shed is typically home to our team of gardeners who manage our natural-farming land on Birch Farm, but we also love to share it with other people – by day and by night – who want to hire this stunning micro space for wedding breakfasts, celebration lunches and private parties.
The dining room seats 18 and is bolstered by an outdoor courtyard and an indoor bar area for an aperitif to kick off proceedings. We can dress the room with seasonal greenery from the farm and local flowers, and at night light it with candles.
The rustic modern British food and the drinks come courtesy of our talented team of gardeners at Birch Farm and chefs at The Farmers Arms, who create delicious tailored feasts based on seasonal ingredients either grown on the farm or foraged from the nearby coastline.
The Potting Shed is on the farm and next to our ornamental and productive gardens and orchards, making it a special and very bespoke event space. More than a room to hire, it’s a place to create special memories. We don’t have a licence to hold wedding ceremonies but the space is perfect for newlyweds looking to celebrate in the countryside with a small crowd of their favourite people.
